Al dente refers to the desired texture of cooked pasta in Italian cooking. It literally means “the the tooth”. When the pasta is cooked al dente, there should be a slight resistance in the center when the pasta is chewed.

My Birthday Celebration

It’s my birthday today!!!

Me and hubby had a pretty packed weekend, and I consider them part of my birthday celebration. =)

We had movies (A Christmas Carol – 3D), a live musical by the Army, drove to Bridgeville, Delaware for the World Championship Punkin Chunkin and Dim Sum lunch.

My hubby did origami roses, cooked a special meal and he even got a surprise birthday cake for me! (Though we had a little “drama” over decision making… it’s over and all’s well again.)

I appreciate the efforts he had put in. Handicrafts and cooking are definitely not his cup of tea, but he did them for me. Knowing that he went out of his way to get them done, I suppose it is a way of saying I mean a lot to him. Thanks dear.

PS: Few hours after posting the above, my hubby told me that he is bringing me out for dinner. I did not expect it and I’m really happy that he thought of doing it. I told him I’m already happy with the thought, so we’ll save that dinner place for another outing instead.
